Winter Skills Training

Winter training is designed to break down and focus on constant repetition of the basics to advance our level of play.  Each session will incorporate new movements to our athletes stick work routines focusing on using both strong and weak hands. The position specific sessions will focus on learning the unique skills needed for elite play in that position.

Offense

The offensive sessions will focus on mastering the fundamentals of shooting, dodging (split, jab, roll, face) and cutting off ball. Shooting will dive into advance concepts such as sidearm,  shooting low to high, behind the back and changing levels. Dodging will focus on starting at a slow pace and progressing into full speed. Players can expect to take close to 100 reps or more while being challenged to focus on their shooting placement and power. 

Defense

The defensive sessions will focus on forming well rounded defensive habits. Emphasis will be put on footwork (approaching, breakdown, forcing), lateral movement and strong body contact. Long passes and ground balls will be repped at every session. Players can expect 50-100 reps of breakdown footwork and live 1v1’s.
